  • This stein depicts German Emperor Charles V. 1556 is the year in which Karl stepped down from his Emperorship and divided his heritage among son Philipp II and his brother Ferdinand I.
  • On the stein Karl V is flanked by his knights. On left side, near the handle, his son Philipp and opposite side Karls's brother Ferdinand are shown. All three of them wear crowns. Karl V was the Emperor on who's territory the sun would never sink.
